the use of proxies among crackers is very devirted it can be used to steel almost evry thing emails paypal accounts steam and origin netflix deezer almost anything the way it works it protects the theives identity and also it prevents from being banned i'll explain if you keep using the same ip for brute forcing a web site that ip will eventually be banned so you will need annother ip thats where the proxy servers come if you had a list of frech proxies you can use it to prevent that if the proxy ip gets banned now problem  you will have more proxy ips
