9GAG COMMENTS LOG 23

Except Monday, when the dude in Florida was shot for respecting police. I'm white. I've never been pulled over. Ever.

a23nukem38  · 1d
@mr_bo_jangles but do you drive with tinted windows O.o

alanrunstrack934  · 8h
Okay, here's a few things.

1. The problem is that you, as a lawful citizens, have been pulled over countless times. It's because you're black.

2. We now know that being a lawful conceal carry permit holder doesn't stop you from being shot.

3. We now know that respecting their authority and complying with all orders doesn't stop you from being shot.

nomaaan54  · 8h
@alanrunstrack there are always bad eggs but does not mean that the dozen is rotten.

thomaslynn01442  · 1d
I don't know WHY people thing that using CAPS in the middle of the SENTENCE is a GOOD IDEA, it just makes you seem like an IDIOT who doesn't know how to TYPE without looking like an IDIOT. ALSO why are you POSTING FACEBOOK stuff on 9GAG?

purplewords196952  · 1d
@thomaslynn01 why so awKward and yelly?

devul315  · 8h
A guy was literally lying down with his hands up and got shot. There is something there

dogethebomber12  · 8h
@devul apparently the cops said that they were "aiming" at the other man, but I call bs on that

cacho1077199  · 8h
Tell that to the 12 year old boy who was shot practically drive-by style by the police. Or to the man who died handcuffed in the back of a police van. Or to the man who was choked to death by five policemen at once. Or to the guy who was shot while unnarmed on the ground. Or to the other guy who was shot while unnarmed on the ground, but survived. Or to the man who was shot with no warning for having a bb gun. Or to the man shot from behind while unarmed and fleeing. Or, heck, tell it to the guy who was shot in the back of the head while subdued because the cop confused his gun with his taser. That's right, you can't.

sr99911  · 8h
@cacho1077 you need to go up!

mufc_20180  · 8h
How about Charles Kinsey who had both hands up and was trying to protect his patient? No justification for that at all. While this post is accurate for some accounts it's just idiotic to call BLM a "radical" movement or words to that effect. Some morons are spoiling it for the rest but BLM is just trying to let people know that black people need to stop being targeted and treated differently by the police. Not all cops are killers, not all black people are innocent but only a fool would refuse to acknowledge a serious problem like this.

justchillin128  · 7h
@mufc_20 you my friend deserve to be higher and be heard all across America.

SilvSilvSilvs97  · 8h
Funny how he doesnt see a problem with being pulled over countless of times, while it's very likely the only reason he gets pulled over is the color of his skin. I mean, I'm white, and I've literally never been pulled over.

khandorercicia15  · 7h
@SilvSilvSilvs Well he can't help being pulled over, but what he can do is keep the unnecessary violence to a minimum by being respectful towards the cop. It's not something an individual could stand up against, because they have the authority and the weapon, even if their morals might be fucked up, it's still in your best interest to cooperate. Sad but true.

reyestiz48  · 8h
Black lives matter has not called for violence against cops. And the police force is an institution to protect and defend everyone. However, no one can deny the numbers. Blacks are shot by police at a huge rate compared to their population. Its just as harmful to pretend this problems doesn't exist as calling for violence against it. Just recently a black man was shot while trying to help his client with autism while he held his hands up. When the cop was asked why he shot him, the response was: "I don't know".

dubience12  · 3h
@reyestiz uhhhh, yes BLM has called for the death of cops. Several times over.

lord_putinitin72  · 1d
It is good to see more people speaking out against these radical movements

zansky26  · 8h
@lord_putinitin radical movements that protest against radical cops. So rad.

marke88633  · 1d
Well.. that's one way to deal with racial profiling, but not all blacks who are racially profiled by the police share the sentiment. Also, not all cops want to just make it home to the wife and kid. Some are just mean, looking to bully, have sinister agenda's, are corrupt, etc.

vaizelle6  · 8h
@marke886 They can only go so far if you haven't committed any crime. Why not take a leap of faith by cooperating to the extent that they lose interest instead of retaliating, thereby reinforcing racial stereotypes?

lessettitsanbr26  · 8h
Yeah, because a man shot while lying on his back with his hands in the air and the officer saying that he didn't know why he shot him means that the man wasn't being humble. But I suppose that one doesn't count becuase the man survived

sgtgiggsy1h
@lessettitsanbr Doesn't count, because they DIDN'T SHOOT AT THE BLACK GUY! They targeted the white guy, it was a stray bullet that hit the black guy.

totes_mcgoaste40  · 1d

dat_ss_mann4  · 7h
@totes_mcgoaste this, this will never stop being funny.

archer_isis27  · 8h
Yeah so explain the therapist in Florida trying to help the autistic kid playing with a toy truck. He was laying on the ground with his hands up and they STILL shot him!

captainhatteras15  · 4h
@archer_isis Police went on the spot and found a BLACK dude! already fulfilled the requirements to get shot, on top he has beard!! So could be Muslim!! Plus another guy playing with weird object. That could be suicide bomb!!
PHEW PHEW PHEW PHEW
"aw God, why did you shot, my arms were up"
Police guy, "I dun no"
PHEW PHEW.

danilus18  · 8h
Cops are more likely to treat minorities more roughly during stops/arrests. This guy's words are called anecdotal evidence; I think just in the past few weeks we've seen atleast two black guys being shot by the cops despite not resisting. The most recent one was on the ground with his hands up.

imthatdanishguy3  · 3h
@danilus - Funny that those cases you bring out aren't considered "anecdotal evidence". But of course, they support your narrative.

seshadivi14  · 8h
If he doesn't realize that being pulled over COUNTLESS times is a problem...then this is a moot discussion

mcroell1  · 3h
@seshadivi Even worse... the post explicitly states that a cop's only goal is to get home safely. THAT is the real problem here. If your cops are concerned exclusively wth their own safety, is it any wonder that they turn against those they've been meant to serve and protect? Is that, for real, the attitude you want your law enforcement to have in their everyday lives? You surely don't.

antonienl11  · 8h
I do remember just recently a black man being shot while lying on the ground with his hands in the air, totally obeying police orders. On top of that, he was a behavior therapist who tried to help an autistic patient on the street

sgtgiggsy1h
@antonienl And he got shot by accident, he wasn't targeted at, a stary bullet hit him. He would've got shot even if he was a white therapist.

rai_den1516  · 18h
Tell that to the guy who got shot while caring for the autistic kid
He was soooooo disrespectful to authority.
Also, I think it depends where you are. I'm from North California around SF and every single encounter I've had with police has been positive. But then you read about Florida....

sgtgiggsy1  · 1h
@rai_den15 And he got shot by accident, he wasn't targeted at, a stary bullet hit him. He would've got shot even if he was a white therapist.

pitr19801  · 3h
Slave mentality. In a free society you shouldn't have to submit to the authority of anyone, let alone an oppressive police force that will not hesitate to use violence and/or lethal force.

team4aladeen1  · 3h
@pitr1980 you'd rather have anarchy ? Police exists for a reason, and EVERYONE must respect the law

norelding10  · 8h
SAY THAT TO CHARLES KINSEY U PRICK

sgtgiggsy1h
@norelding He got shot by accident, he wasn't targeted at, a stary bullet hit him. He would've got shot even if he was a white therapist.

rainbow_tits69_4  · 6h
We need more people like him. The police aren't racist. They don't decide to shoot because they're considering the color of their skin, they just do it in the moment. First the facts need to show that there isn't a significantly higher amount of crime within certain communities. People need to learn how to oblige because there are people who do get caught from being pulled over. It might not seem like a lot, but it probably saved someone's life

nelsonchow6025  · 5h
@rainbow_tits69_ that cop in florida surely was caught "in the heat of the moment", when his life was in risk whilst confronting a unarmed, respectful, orders-following, hispanic therapist who is comforting a patient sitting in the streets with his deadly weapon-a toy truck.
The cop later says that he was aiming at the patient, which is even more wrong. Why tf would you even have your gun out confronting two perfectly peaceful civilians? And why tf would you even be under stress and "accidentally hit the therapist" lest they are worried by the minority's skin colour? The fact is that there is no excuse for the cop, who should be charged with attempted manslaughter and assualt causing extreme bodily harm. Instead, he'll probably just loose his job.
The fact innocent, peaceful civilian minorities run the risk of being shot even being perfectly respectful abd obedient, like the "3rd class citizen they are" /s, show that there's severe problems within your system, and if you think there i

_gorilla_8  · 8h
Or, you know, just ban guns...

_gorilla_7  · 8h

nickhimura14  · 8h
Idiots huh? ONE guy is enough PR for you? So the guy shot taking care of an autistic patient had a gun and did not respect authority huh?

zikzax3  · 7h
If he doesn't mind being pulled over "countless" times, good for him, I suppose. Seems odd to me, though. He's either being racially profiled or he's so incredibly disrespectful of driving laws and traffic norms that the authorities need to stop him countless times.

zikzax4  · 7h
@zikzax Just by comparison, as a white middle aged guy who has driven 500k miles in my life throughout almost every state in the US, I can count exactly how many times I've been pulled over: 6 (all were for "warnings", license plate light being out, snow covering part of my window, etc. except one, for driving 7 mph over the limit). If you're in your twenties and have been pulled over "countless" times, something is wrong somewhere - with you or the system.

best_jokur1  · 3h
The BLM guys make it sound as if every police were bad, I mean, there are bound to be a few racist ones out of all of the police in America, partially due to the racial differences they have there(and yes those exist) Still, the people arguing against these "BLM" guys almost always make themselves look like idiots by saying that there is no racial tension AT ALL which is pure bs.

team4aladeen3h
@best_jokur it's better to act like there's none than claiming, as BLM does, that litteraly everything is about racism. Because THAT creates racial tensions when there would have been none.

niclyx3  · 7h
So explain Charles Kinsey, the caretaker of an autistic kid, shot after he had explained that he was unarmed, kid was unarmed, had both hands in the air and still got shot in the leg.
Go on. I await your explanation.

dreamer12092h
@niclyx Did he survive?

crazycatandroid5  · 5h
I read this as: I'm a black American and as long as you become subservient and know your place as a black person in US society, then you're good.

dreamer12092h
@crazycatandroid Exactly

soleil0713h
Op, you're the only idiot here. One example isn't enough.

team4aladeen1  · 2h
@soleil071 then look at the comments, all use the same example against OP.

skiller3137h
Fuck white cops

dreamer12091h
@skiller313 Don't make it worse

uberdave4  · 7h
Funny thing is that eh doesn't get that if he weren't black he wouldn't have been pulled over countless times.

mildremedy1h
@uberdave ikr? I mean yeah, I for one have never been pulled over even once in my entire life. The poor sheep can't see where the problem is...

jojoxyz3  · 7h
What he says is correct. If you respect the police officer things should go about with no violence. We must also remember that things do not always go how they should. Just because you have not experienced something does not mean it doesn't exist. That would be like me saying aids doesn't exist because I don't have it, and saying if people want to avoid getting aids they should wear condoms like me. Now, its true condoms greatly reduce the chance of you catching aids, but that does not mean they make it impossible.

hisderpness35m
@jojoxyz True. I feel like some of the police killing cases are really bad accidents. The 1% of unusual absurdity is always possible.

thatschwiftyguy1  · 7h
Listening to irrational arguments and orders, which is what happen with all the highly reported police brutality/ excessive force cases, is not the same as respecting authority.

thatschwiftyguy2  · 7h
@thatschwiftyguy don't know what's up with this guy, just ing out that that's what's been happening a lot recently that all those 'BLM idiots' have been outraged about.

shonotirmizi5  · 7h
Say that to Anton who respected their authority and got shot

ruuncoordinated1  · 3h
This guy has a lot more patience than me. I honestly wouldn't know how to deal with being constantly victimised like that, just because of the colour of my skin.

team4aladeen2h
@ruuncoordinated see, THIS is the problem: everyone always assumes "it's about skin color" when I bet 99% of the time, it's not.
For some reason people like you just want to create racial tensions.

hp1053h
Still black

dreamer12092h
@hp105 What do you mean?

iheartbunnies5h
Black crime is higher. Black crime against officers in particular is higher than the reverse. Black on black crime is high as fuck. The amount of homicides comitted by black people is unbelievably high. There's nothing wrong with your skin color. It's the very real culture you yourselves associate with it... Skin culture if you will.

dreamer12091h
@iheartbunnies Black on black crime must be one of the most retarded arguments ever regarding said injustice towards black americans. If you want interracial killing, you have to have interracial communities. It is not best understood as black-on-black crime; rather, it is neighbor-to-neighbor carnage. If their neighbors were white, they’d get no exemption from the crime that plagues human beings who happen to be black.

qwertyextra5  · 8h
Show it to the therapist.

langerthebanger3  · 7h
The dude starts his rant by saying that as a black guy, he's been pulled over countless times. I'm a white guy and I've been pulled over twice. Thank you black guy for hoarding all the cops.

zeroproxy3  · 8h
Kevin Martin is a blind idiot!!

tr_844  · 5h
Basically so this guy hasn't been shot yet, so doesn't think there's a problem. Even though black people in America need to go through a check list of things to try to survive ordinary encounters with police.

rascal11784  · 6h
BLM is about trying to weed out the bad cops who racially profile. Have you heard about the police chief in New York who was harassed by two officers when he was out of uniform because he was black? Or did the see the man in Miami who laid on the ground, arms raised away from in, trying to calmly speak with police, who got shot in the leg?

bulbapony4  · 8h
But the guy in Minnesota told the officer he has a gun and registration for it, and was killed anyway.
And an Austin teacher was slammed to the ground and told in the police car, blacks have violent tendencies that's why they're feared.

majorkoolness3  · 8h
Congratulations, you've demonstrated that as a black man, it might be possible to avoid getting shot when you've done nothing wrong. How excellent, I'm sure black people everywhere must be up in celebrations with the knowledge that if they're innocent police might not shoot them. Hooray. Fuckwit.

shitkronksays3  · 8h
This person is 100% stupid. How are they not outraged that they're constantly being pulled over? That they're being questioned for hours for having a LEGAL permit? That other black people are being shot down even as they are complying. We just had a case recently where a black man was shot even though he was lying on the ground with his hands in the air. The police said they were aiming for the autistic man that he was trying to calm down (who wasn't armed either).

EVEN IF those people were resisting arrest, do they deserve to die? Is that a death sentence? Death is PERMANENT. YOU ARE DEAD. No respawn, no continue. Game fucking over.

nac_nabuc2  · 2h
As a european I find the implicit message of "respect their authority or it's your fault to get shot" to be really scary. Disrespecting the authority of a police officer shouldn't put you in danger. First of all, because what is "respectful" and what is "disrespectful" are subjective concepts and different people might have different opinion on what is acceptable or not. Second: beeing "disrespectful", does, by no means, justify beeing shot. That's just crazy. Disproportionate. And I might have a bad day, be nervous for any other reason. Or the cop be oversensitive that day. I myself had one encounter with german police once. Was nervous because of personal stuff, listening to music, didn't hear the police officer at first, when he grabbed me I reacted badly. I'm glad the guy had a brain and just talked to me 10 seconds until I realized what was going on.

The only reason why a cop should shoot at you is that you are beeing an acute danger to him or to third partis. Period.

godstuff2  · 3h
too many idiots throwing their opinions around about the issue. If you are spewing this BLM prospective you are a idiot that probably knows no black people and never stepped food in the "hood". You are apart of the new age whiny opinion about everything culture and you are a problem. You might as well be flat earth supporters. Go look at the data and stop complaining about issues you dont have any experience in at all. You are the worse type of people on the planet.

regonas2  · 4h
Then thank god you aren't white, because white people in the america is shot and killed way more often than black people.

it_says_weeny2  · 5h
His personal experience in a northern less racist state (going by license plate) even in the hick parts of that state apparently should equate to the personal experiences of blacks being killed in rest of the country. Sure he could have a million good experiences but his next one could still be a bad one and he'll end up in a body bag just like Philando Castile. Also why is the guy being pulled over so much? Some amount of racial targeting most likely.

magneto5612  · 7h
I agree with everything in OPs post except the part where he says police have one job, to get home safe. What about protect and serve!? Saving lives by following procedure and not nervously shooting just because (as the Miami cop put it) "I don't know".

scottzanarky2  · 8h
One individual's personal experiences does not constitute fact. I'm sure his attitude towards law enforcement helps when needed, but there still exists this ongoing trend with law enforcement in the US where they feel the need to shoot if they are even remotely threatened. Guns are supposed to be a last resort, not the first.

chrisphoenix72  · 8h
Not ALL COPS are KILLERS and NOT ALL black MEN are CRIMINALS. Not ALL people know how TO USE CAPS coRREctly.

asisgonzalezag1  · 42m
Totally agree with the need of respecting authority to avoid problems with the law. BUT, the goal of a policeman should be to make sure the others make it home safe, not him/her... If you prefer to kill another person without knowing if he/she is a criminal, just to avoid 0,0001% risk on yourself then you should not dedicate to a profession which is supposed to "protect and serve". In fact, if you are not willing to risk your life for others why the fck did you became a policeman in the first place... makes no sense for me

twisted3601  · 1h
Ok. Let me get this straight... You're okay with being pulled over countless times for nothing? You're okay with feeling like you could die at a routine traffic stop for the rest of you're life? You're okay with feeling like a second class citizen being pulled over for the color of your skin? You see, as a white person, that will probably never happen to me, and I would hate it if I was forced to feel that way every time I was approached by a cop.

Also, your post says that you have been pulled over countless times... Do you not think that that's what happened to everyone of those men, women and children that were shot? Most of the time it was not their first time being pulled over. It just so happened that that one time they got shot and killed. It only takes one time to die and your time could still be coming - remember the man that had a license to carry, was complying with the police, showing no attitude, and was still shot and killed in front of his child.

merahbaouiharo1  · 1h
You gotta Respect my authoritah

theeda1  · 2h
So all the police tries to do is to get home alive and every other citizen should feel the same. Great. Not sad at all. And absolutely nothing to do with every fucking twat carrying a gun.

apocalypse_pls1  · 2h
Makes sense... also, I ate diner today so world hunger is finished.

christiancunt1  · 2h
there's definitely racism involved...but i still don't see why you can't just comply with their "orders" and leave alive -_- why resist? lol

DJCoulton1  · 2h
If you take a random person they'll most likely never have interaction with police - that doesnt mean innocent people doesn't get kill over it.

20yoasiangirl1  · 3h
The problem is that even if you are lying on the ground with your hands in the air the cops will still shoot you.

ericbarcafan1  · 3h
@juxy12 these anti cop nutheads are ridicoulos

winking261  · 3h
THEIR JOB IS NOT TO MAKE IT HOME SAFE AND UNTIL THE END OF THEIR SHIFT! That's what they and we hoped for, but that is not what we paid them for. Lets face it, police officers are meant to keep us safe, they have a higher responsibility put on them, and their burden and discipline demands a lot more compared to a day to day job. They are our guardians, our supermen, our ideal upholders.. And those who join to become one needs to know this. Being a police officer is not just a job.. Its a lifestyle and life commitment.

This would have been true for military and soldiers, hence why is the police 'force' any different.

zos2quebd11  · 3h
That's a very nice idea of his. And there are tons of black people in the USA who were taught by their parents to act this way. Some of them, however, have been killed nonetheless. So, while this is good advice (it won't hurt anyway), it's also kind of bullshit. He is basicly, without meaning to no doubt, laying the blame for being killed with (other) black people. You got shot, so you must have done something wrong. That is pretty disrespectful to those victims, and to their next of kin who are mourning them.

I seriously hope that nothing bad ever happens to this Kevin Martin, but I fear that if he thinks it will never happen because he follows these "rules" of his, that is pretty much an illusion.

x_lex1  · 3h
And then there's me, asking we he had to be pulled over COUNTLESS times in the first place. In my 25 years of driving I have never been pulled over by police.

ihaveahugenick1  · 4h
As a white man from Europe: it shouldn't be: A) handshake; B) body bag.

desenfants1  · 4h
I see a problem in the first sentence. Non-black people don't get pulled over and over countless times in different neighborhoods. Sincerely, an Asian.

stay_gold1  · 5h
It's Finn, right?

nicolasrichard1  · 5h
What a load of bullshit. We have seen how respectful you can be and yet still get shot by the police...

mrblondegj1  · 7h
And the guy who was shot who was laying down on the floor with hands in the air?

aintshesweet_1  · 7h
Unless you have a toy truck.

megabanzo1  · 8h
So disrespect deserves death. Nice

jtwone41  · 8h
Does . .. no one sees anything wrong with him being pulled over countless times?
